Girls Primary Football

Eight teams took part this time and were divided into 2 groups of 4; the top two would then qualify for the knockout ½ finals.
In section A, Newchurch won all three of their games to clinch the group but the other three teams, St Saviours, The Bay C/E and Queensgate all beat each other so it went down to goal difference; St Saviours sneaked this by a single goal to move into the semi finals.
In section B, things were a little more clear cut; Greenmount won all their games and they were joined by Holy Cross after beating Nine Acres and Godshill. Godshill beat Nine Acres in the last game.
The semi finals were very open games with lots of goals. Newchurch beat Holy Cross 3-0 whilst St Saviours upset the form book by beating Greenmount 3-0.
The final was a brilliant game. Newchurch took the lead by St Saviours hit back to lead 2-1. Newchurch then responded with three more goals, without reply to win 4-2 and so become the first ever winners of this competition.
